• President's Message

    Beth Mignone

Hope this message finds you all busy at work and having a great time! We’ve got some cool news to share that’s bound to put a big ol’ smile on your faces.

Thanks to the Town of Oyster Bay / Nassau Council of Chambers grants, we’ve teamed up with the one and only Dave Saul from Marketing Masters NY to sprinkle some marketing magic on our chamber and all you fabulous members. Get ready for some new video, social media magic, and all-around marketing. Dave’s the man, and we’re stoked to have him and Joann on board! No one knows Farmingdale better, and he can tie so many of the organizations together. Dave has been a Board member for a long time, and we thank him for taking on this project.

March is known as Women’s History Month, and we wanted to give a big shoutout to all the incredible women making waves in our business community. Their hustle and brilliance deserve a round of applause, so join us in celebrating these rockstars! If any woman would  like more information on what we are doing for Women in Business or our Women’s Group “Mind Your Business” please speak with our Director Silvia Vargas.

And mark your calendars for May because it’s Small Business Month, and we’re turning the spotlight on our local long time members! Expect a month-long celebration, celebrating the grit, creativity, and downright awesomeness of our small business family.

We’re excited and so happy about all these happenings and can’t wait to see the positive vibes they bring to our Farmingdale Chamber. Thanks a million for being part of this journey!

Cheers to good times and great business.

  • Joanne Benincasa, Outstanding Businessperson of 2024

    For Immediate Release

The Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Joanne Benincasa was selected as our Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce 2024 Outstanding Businessperson of the Year. Each year the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce encourages members to select an Honoree to receive this prestigious award.  The Honoree must meet the following criteria:
    •   Active Member of the Chamber of Commerce
    •   Owns or manages a business located in the community
    •   Has made a significant contribution to the local economy, to the advancement of the Chamber and has made a meaningful and important contribution to the general welfare of the local community.
The Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors unanimously agreed that  Joanne fully meets and exceeds these criteria and is proud to recognize her as our 2024 Honoree.

Joanne Benincasa enjoyed a very successful 32-year career in the beauty industry until she decided to join forces during the Covid pandemic with her husband and high school sweetheart, Joe, in The Joseph Benincasa State Farm Agency.  Joanne brought with her a wealth of expertise in marketing, advertising and business development which translated to a new social media platform, brand awareness and increased sales for the agency. Fully licensed in Property & Casualty and Life & Health insurance, Joanne is passionate about designing the best insurance policy to fit the needs and budget of her clients. As the agency’s notary public, Joanne is happy to provide that service to their clients as well as to the general public. Joanne’s dedication extends beyond her professional life; her efforts and contributions reflect her passion for making a positive impact in the lives of others by supporting many not-for-profit organizations across Long Island such as EJ’s PJ’s, The Michael Magro Foundation, This is My S.W.A.G and many others.  The Joseph Benincasa State Farm Agency, which opened its doors in Farmingdale in 2012, is also deeply committed to giving back to the community with programs such as their “Like a Good Neighbor Scholarship Award” with Farmingdale High School and their business internship with Farmingdale State College.

Joanne has been an active board member of the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce since 2022, where she has helped support local businesses and foster community growth. She co-chairs the Comedy Night fundraiser, a highly anticipated annual event that brings business and community members together for a night of fun and laughter to raise money for the Farmingdale High School Scholarship Fund.  In 2023, Joanne also served as the chairperson for the FCC Small Business Season campaign, leading initiatives to promote and support small businesses within the community during the holiday shopping season.

Joanne said, “I am beyond grateful to have been awarded this prestigious honor by my fellow board members, which I proudly share with my husband, Joe, and our incredible staff. It is a privilege to serve on this board and to be a part of this wonderful community of Farmingdale, which for us is like home.”
